THIS IS Y is a design studio for motion branding. Based in Hamburg, we work internationally and across teams. Every project is different - shaped by the people behind it. We work with brands and agencies across a wide range of scales, local and international. With smart ideas and straightforward execution, we guide the process from the first idea to the final frame.

Position
Motion is an essential part of brand identity. It informs, engages and defines how a brand is experienced. From individual assets to campaigns and events, animation brings brands to life. Clear principles ensure consistency, recognition and impact across every touchpoint.
Rhythm
Animation should feel right (and good). Rhythm, energy and the right timing are what make the difference. How movement is perceived shapes its meaning. Good motion design uses movement intentionally - aligned with the brand and the specific context.
Trust
Good communication starts with context. To design with purpose, we need to understand a brand’s identity, its goals and its constraints. This understanding builds trust and leads to long-term partnerships with brands and agencies. What brings us together is curiosity, clarity in decision-making and the drive to keep thinking things further. Best when done together - and over the long term.
